For this week’s interview, we first took a moment to get acquainted with Sergio Campano.
We started with asking Sergio for a brief description of what Vitcord does. Vitcord is creating a new way of seeing the world through video. Until now, people created individually. In a hyper-connected digital environment, Vitcord makes the people co-creators of videos, through an app that allows everyone to add clips, either for a particular event or motivation, creating unique content for the video.
From here, we asked Sergio to share his knowledge and experience in the Growth Hacking world to help edify fellow business people.

How do you start your day?
I start my day by checking my cell phone and reviewing my work data. I check how effective the Facebook ads are regarding the downloads. This is the first thing I do. I even skip breakfast. You can say that I am ‘’sick’’, because I don’t have any breakfast in the morning.
When a problem arises, how do you approach it?
I like to look for the different options. I will try to have an overview of the problem. It is important to know the structure of the problem. I work with people from different fields, and those people have a different perspective. From there I try to acquire all the perspectives in order to be able to make a decision. It is important to talk with all the people in your company ( when you have a start up ).
How do you end your day?
I like to end my day by checking my phone and surfing the web.
Tell us a little bit about your company
It is a young and dynamic company with young professionals. It’s a company that has high potential. As I told you during the introduction, Vitcord provides people with the opportunity to become co-creators of video, through an app that allows all to add clips, either for a particular event or motivation. This creates unique content for the video.
What is an average day at your company?
An average day? We control our actions with metrics, we work with scrums and small actions. For those who aren’t familiar with scrums, scrum is an agile framework for completing complex projects. Afterwards, we measure all the actions. This is what we do on a weekly base. We cut the chase and try to be effective.
How did you develop growth hacking skills?
By working along with different departments and measuring all the information. From there I learned what’s important and what’s not.
What are some of your favorite productivity hacks?
I tend to spread my work over the day, lets say, one complex task in the morning, and two in the afternoon. I work for a flexible company. By being flexible, I increase my productivity.
How is growth hacking different from normal marketing? Explain the differences at your business.
You have to achieve more with less resources and work without a budget. You need focus on growth. Normal marketing works together with various departments. For instance, normally marketing will call another department if they want something, which can be the technical department. With growth hacking, you have to achieve it yourself.
What are the benefits of growth hacking? How did it help your business?
The benefits for a start up? The biggest one is the budget. Having not enough money makes you extremely creative.
What was the most surprising learning with a/b tests for a landing page?
Moving a logo for 1 cm was extremely destructive. From trial and error, you’ll find the right thing/move.
What are the top qualities of successful growth hackers? Why are these qualities essential?
Intuition and adaptability.
What do you believe is the future of growth hacking?
Growth hacking and growth hackers will be extremely important. In the future, a marketer has to know how to program, design and how to obtain traffic in the same step. The marketing world will tend to this direction. This is my perspective.
Each industry is different, but is there some sort of standard best steps or best practice for each model to empower successful growth?
Automation in the processes, gathering the best growth tools at the lowest costs, working with collective intelligence and escalating with partners.
